Binance Withdrawals Reach $831 Million 💰

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has recently experienced a significant drop in assets on its platform, with $831 million in net outflows in just the past 24 hours. Here’s everything you need to know about it [👇🏻]

This significant decrease in assets is a result of investors reducing their holdings on the platform due to recent regulatory action against the Paxos-issued Binance USD (BUSD) stablecoin.

The New York Department of Financial Services has ordered Paxos to halt the issuing of the $16 billion BUSD stablecoin, and there is also the potential for enforcement action from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Data from blockchain intelligence firm Nansen shows that users withdrew a total of $2.8 billion in digital assets in the last 24 hours, outweighing the $2 billion in deposits during the same time period.

This marks the largest, daily net outflows from Binance since November, surpassing even the December outflows when the exchange's lacklustre report about its reserves sparked alarm among investors.

BUSD is the third-largest stablecoin and accounts for a significant portion of Binance's trading volume, with 35% of all Binance trading volume stemming from BUSD. Given a large amount of Binance-related assets on the platform, these withdrawals put a significant amount of pressure on Binance and its reserve assets.

Despite this, Binance CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao has assured investors in a tweet that customer funds are safe.
