Whale Sells 1,010 NFTs for $18.6 Million - Turns Out Monopoly Money is Real!
GM Guys and Gals,
We've got some breaking news hot off the press! NFT whale, Jeffrey Hwang (aka Machi Big Brother), has just completed the "largest NFT dump ever" by selling a whopping 1,010 tokens for a staggering $18.6 million! That's enough money to buy a small island or a fleet of Lamborghinis.
But wait, there's more! Apparently, Machi isn't just in it for profit. According to Nansen's Andrew Thurman, this massive NFT dump could be a play to score extra BLUR token rewards from the upcoming airdrop.
It's like trying to collect all the pieces of a Monopoly board game to win a free pizza. Genius!
In what's likely the largest NFT dump ever, in the past 48 hours Machi has sold 1,010 NFTs, including:
- 90 BAYC for 5707 ETH
- 191 MAYC for 3091 ETH
- 112 Azuki for 1644 ETH
- 308 Otherdeed for 582 ETHBut he's not registering much profit for these collections. Why?

Machi's selling spree included some big names like the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Otherdeed NFTs. But fear not, fellow collectors, Machi has already bought back 991 of the tokens, possibly to book some profits or manipulate the market. We can't blame him, though. With $18.6 million on the line, we'd be doing some monkey business too.
The Blur marketplace is set for a second airdrop soon, and Machi is reportedly one of the biggest receivers of BLUR tokens. He's already cashed out $1.3 million worth of tokens, and he's hungry for more. It's like he's playing a high-stakes game of Pokemon, trying to catch 'em all.
Machi is currently not holding any $BLUR - like others, he sold it all.
In total, he received $1.3M for his 1.8M Blur tokens, selling at an average price of $0.707.
It took 38 separate transactions for him to completely sell his $BLUR!

But Machi's actions aren't without consequences. The floor prices of some of the top collections he dumped, like BAYC and MAYC, have seen a drop of almost 10%. In other words, "One man’s quest for an airdrop is wrecking some markets," as Thurman put it.
So, what's next for Machi and the NFT world? Will he continue to be the ultimate NFT whale, or will he be dethroned by another crypto animal? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, we'll be keeping an eye out for the next big NFT dump, and who knows, maybe we'll join in on the fun. After all, why buy a house when you can buy a virtual monkey with a pipe?
