El Salvador 🇸🇻 became the first ever country in the world 🌎 to use Bitcoin as legal tender.

👉🏻 Seeing the future potential of bitcoin, the President of El Salvador: Bukele went on to announce his Bitcoin Law at a cryptocurrency conference in Miami in June 2021.

As a result, El Salvador went on to become the first country to accept Bitcoin as legal tender.

👉🏻 The Initiative involved buying Bitcoin with public funds as well as launching a national virtual wallet called: Chivo (aka cool) that offers no-fee transactions and allowed for quick cross-border payments.

🔴 El Salvador bought 2,381 (approx.) Bitcoin at a price of $105 Million which is now priced at $41.5 Million. The country went on to lose about $64.5 Million 🤯
